Great Minds Think Alike

One of the cool things I’ve appreciated in the 2 short years of sewing is that you would rarely find 2 sewist with the exact same pattern AND fabric. Well, I almost proved myself wrong! Thanks to the Pattern Review website, I remembered that Victoria B also used this fabric with one of the patterns under consideration (Simplicity 2406)!

Now, it would have been perfectly fine to use the same pattern. After all, we live some 800 miles away from each other! She’s in GA and I live in MI but I couldn’t continue to espouse uniqueness as a quality of sewing knowing that someone, somewhere-namely Georgia -could potentially have on the same outfit, on the same day! I guess a better way to look at it is –Great minds think alike! Nonetheless, I decided to use Simplicity 2187 instead and here’s my review…

Pattern Description:

Misses dress, jumpsuit and tunic

Pattern Sizing:

14 – 22

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

Were the instructions easy to follow?

Extremely easy.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?

I like the super easy pocket construction. No dislikes

Fabric Used:

Wasn’t sure until I remembered that Victoria B used the same fabric for Simplicity 2406. She noted it was a woven polyester so that’s good enough for me!

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:

Would you sew it again? There’s too many other patterns on my list. Would you recommend it to others? I would definitely recommend it. The instructions were perfect. Great for beginners.

Conclusion:

This is a great summer wardrobe extender. I love the fabric in this pattern and Victoria B’s also.
